Shared Education: Learning for Life and Work

On Tuesday 26th March seventy year 10 students from Bangor Grammar, St Columbanus’ and Bangor Academy met for their second instalment of the ‘Shared Education: Learning for Life and Work’ project.

This second session involved mixed groups of the students participating in a range of outdoor activities at Colin Glen Forest Park. Boys and girls from all three schools were dangling at heights on the SkyTrek, testing their mettle as they leapt from the ‘Leap of Faith’ and putting their brains together to solve a series of team challenges.

The day allowed them to build on some of the key concepts raised at the initial Shared Education meet, such as resilience, diversity, inclusion and empathy, and recognising the importance of these in our daily lives. The next session which will recap on the learning from the day and how to transfer this learning will be held at Bangor Academy in May.
