Summer Nationals Swimming results
Congratulations to Bangor Grammar School pupils Frank Allen (year 8), Callum Slagter and Austin Williams (year 9) and Ciaran McKee and Ben Riddell (year 10), who all successfully represented Bangor swimming club in the Summer Nationals elite competition.
All the boys clocked new personal bests, reached finals and secured several medals in both relay team and individual competitions, with the 4 x 100 medley team which included BGS boys Austin Williams, Ciaran McKee and Ben Riddell being crowned 14 and under Irish champions.
In terms of individual swims, both Callum Slagter and Frank Allen clocked several personal bests. Ciaran McKee also swam very well making finals in the 100 and 200 backstroke. He also broke the minute for the 100 freestyle for the first time. Ben Riddell also made several finals and collected two medals (silver in the 200 free, bronze in the 100 free). Austin Williams became the 13 and under Irish champion in the 100 and 200 breaststroke. He also collected a silver medal in the 200 IM and a bronze in the 200 fly.
