Welcome from Mrs. Huddleson
Bangor Grammar School is an all boys’ inter-denominational, voluntary grammar school. I hope that, as you browse the site, you will gain a clear idea of the type of school we are and the broad and exciting learning experience we are able to offer to our pupils.
Our core aims of Excellence, Community and Opportunity are encapsulated in everything that we do and add value for all of our pupils. The teaching and non-teaching staff are a positive, hard-working and dedicated group of people who work tirelessly for the betterment of the pupils and the School in general, making it a happy and positive environment to be part of.
We are privileged to enjoy a modern, state of the art building on the Gransha Road, full of light and colour and with spaces which foster our strong sense of community and collective pride. It is large, but at the same time, coherent and compact, warm and welcoming.
Our School provides high quality of learning and teaching at all levels; positive friendly and productive relationships are fostered between staff and pupils and opportunities for the boys to develop intellectually, morally, emotionally, spiritually, imaginatively and creatively are actively encouraged. I strongly believe our vision that Bangor Grammar School should be be one of the leading all boys’ grammar schools in Northern Ireland, where each pupil achieves success and develops into a well-rounded, confident and articulate individual. Through our strong pastoral system, we support and value every single boy and seek to draw from him the best of which he is capable.
The relationship between parents and the School is a vital one in ensuring that your son engages with all School has to offer, whether that be curricular or extra-curricular. Support at home will better allow him to develop the many qualities and skills necessary for success in today’s workplace. More importantly, it will better guarantee that he reaches his full potential.
